Annual Fund Drive

By supporting our House with your financial gifts, you can help provide a safe, comfortable place for hundreds of families. Your annual donation will be used to help underwrite our $400,000 operating budget, which keeps our doors open, heat on and House a home for the more than 800 families who stay with us annually.

Fundraisers

After submitting a completed fundraiser application, individuals and groups use their creative energy to host their own event to benefit the RMHC of Pittsburgh.

Group Service Projects

From time to time, extra muscle is needed to take on larger, short-term tasks. Past projects include: yard work, storage organization and play room clean-up.

Meal Preparation

There is nothing like a home cooked meal, especially when you are so far from home. This opportunity is ideal for small groups of adults or well supervised youth, who want to get together and do something wonderful for the house. Your group can cook at the House, bring a prepared meal, order take-out or even have pizza delivered; it's up to you! For the health and safety of our families, please adhere to the Meal Preparation Guidelines.

Pop Tab Program

Schools, offices, community groups & individuals are "pulling" for the Ronald McDonald House by collecting and donating pop tabs to the House. The donated pop tabs are taken to a local scrap metal yard where they are weighed and exchanged for cash. The money generated plays an important role in keeping our doors open, lights on and heat running. Special Events

Over 40% of the money needed to sustain the Ronald McDonald House of Pittsburgh comes from the Pittsburgh community through our special events. Each year, hundreds of supporters participate in our Big MAC Open, a golf outing held at Laurel Valley Country Club, Shadyside 5K Run, and the StoryBook Ball, a gala event held at Heinz Field.

Tribute Gifts

A donation to the Ronald McDonald House of Pittsburgh is a thoughtful way to celebrate a friend's birthday, wedding, or anniversary or to honor the memory of a loved one. Tribute gifts are accepted for any amount and for any occasion. When a tribute gift is made, we will send an acknowledgement to the person or family of the person in whose name the gift was made. The next time your employer asks you to support the United Way, please consider directing all or part of your gift to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh. By selecting Agency Code 384, you will direct your gift through the United Way of Allegheny County 's Contributor Choice Program to meet the House's needs. If you contribute to United Way in other parts of Pennsylvania or across the country, please write "Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh" in the appropriate area of your pledge form. Volunteer

Volunteers answer phones, greet new families, do light housework and give information at the reception desk. Interested individuals must be friendly, responsible, and enjoy working with others. These volunteers fill a three-hour shift, weekly, biweekly or monthly. For more information download our volunteer brochure. Volunteers must:

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Be accompanied by an adult if under 16 years of age.
• Not be court ordered to complete service hours.
• Fill out a Volunteer Application.

Wish List

One easy way to help is to donate everyday household products from our Wish List. The House uses everything your home does, except on a larger scale, since we have up to 24 families staying with us each night. Note: For the health and safety of our families, we can only accept new items. Thank you for your consideration.
