INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh is always looking for individuals who are willing to share their time and talent with our families.
- Volunteers must meet the following criteria.
- Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.
- Be accompanied by an adult if younger than 16.
- Fill out a volunteer application.
- Attend a meeting and tour with the Assistant House Manager.
Positions Include:
Dinner in a Pinch: Volunteers who are available to be contacted by email to help prepare and serve a meal on short notice when there may be a cancellation. For more information regarding meals for our families, please click here.
House Warmers: Provide support in the operation of the house. This may include light cleaning or other maintenance activities.
Office Volunteers: Assist staff with daily office tasks, including answering phones, coordinating mailings and other projects as needed.
Event Volunteers: Support our two major fundraisers, the Big MAC Open and Storybook Ball. Registration assistants, hole spotters, set-up and clean up are all needed to make sure the event runs smoothly.
Share your Talents: Whether it is knitting hats or blankets, or baking cookies, we always welcome these donations.
Design a Fundraiser: Organize a tournament or contest and designate the House as the recipient of the proceeds. For example: provide employees with incentives such as causal Friday if they donate.
Pop Tab Collecting: Collect and donate aluminum pop tabs to the Ronald McDonald House. The donated pop tabs are taken to a local scrap metal yard where they are weighed and exchanged for cash. The pop tab program raises $3,000 a year for the families staying at the House.
